In the Scarlet Moon Empire reigns the once-mighty hero Barbarossa -- "The Golden
Emperor." With the passing of his wife Claudia, however, his empire slowly deteriorates as
the Emperor himself undergoes a great change. As the once-great kingdom continues to crumble
and fall prey to greed and corruption, a small band of rebels -- the Liberation Army -- forms
to fight the unjust Imperials. One day, one of the five great Imperial Generals makes a trip up north to protect his Empire. It is that day that his son, who has lead a sheltered and carefree life, begins work for the Empire and sees the world with his own eyes for the first time. After the loss of his best friend at the hands of the Empire, our young hero must face a difficult choice -- either stay with and continue to serve the fallen and corrupt Imperials, or join the Liberation Army and fight for the freedom of the entire Scarlet Moon Empire. |

Suikoden is a 20-30 hour RPG with storyline based upon ancient Eastern lore.
Throughout the game you will be able to recruit up to 107 other characters to join your cause,
for a total of 108 characters -- the 108 Stars of Destiny. Some are hardened fighters, some
are experienced magic users, while others serve to lend you their own unique talents. Learn to
wield the power of the Runes, and you will have magic, special attacks, and other bonuses at
your disposal. In addition to the normal party vs. party battles, there are also epic battles -- which pit entire armies against each other -- and one-on-one battles -- true showdowns. Add to all that some truly exceptional music that rivals even that of the Final Fantasy series of role-playing games, and you have Suikoden -- a must-have for any RPG fan and Playstation owner. |
